Kevin De Bruyne Injury Update

Kevin De Bruyne has presented Manchester City with a new injury concern ahead of their crucial Premier League clash with Arsenal, as Belgium opted not to include their captain due to risk factors.

Belgium manager Domenico Tedesco excluded the midfielder from his squad for the March friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and England due to a groin issue. De Bruyne, who underwent hamstring surgery in August, has been managed cautiously by Pep Guardiola, featuring in only five of City’s last 10 matches across all competitions.

Tedesco explained, “He’s been playing with a minor groin issue during the last games. Yesterday I spoke to the doctor and Kevin and we decided that the risk is too big.” City faces Newcastle in the FA Cup on Saturday, while their match against Arsenal on 31st March could heavily influence the title race.

Additionally, City may be without goalkeeper Ederson, injured in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool. Despite returning to City’s lineup in January with 11 assists in 12 outings, De Bruyne has completed the full 90 minutes only five times in the past 10 months and has remained on 99 caps for Belgium for almost a year.
